The National Piping Centre

Restaurant | Glasgow | Scotland | Royaume Uni

Very interesting place to walk through when I went in September 2023! And very lovely people who work there - walked in and the man behind the counter was playing a tune on some bagpipes, I think to test them out after fixing them for someone. Had a nice chat and a nosey around. Thanks for making a kiwi feel welcome!

Stopped by to see thr small museum and enjoyed the exhibits. The highlight was my conversation with the young fellow manning the shop who is also a student at the Piping cntr. Flynn was so informative, attentive and willing to answer all my questions regarding music and also his music trayectory and goals going forward. It is touching to see the youth engaged in the musical traditions of this beautiful country. Thank you Flynn! Wish you great success achieving your goals.

The venue was inadequately sized for the event so people were not admitted including those who had friends and relatives competing. The lady on the door was very officious and unsympathetic to people who had come to see their friends and family competing in piping idol. Overall a pretty crappy venue and experience.

Dropped in for a visit while in Glasgow. Great small museum dedicated to bagpipes and related Scottish history. Great for a short visit.

A hidden jewel of the city! Visited Glasgow for a second time and this place made my day! The story and background of the place is very unique and very important for the Scottish culture! Wishing all the best to the lads over there and I hope to relive an equal experience and learn more about bagpipes!🙏

The actual “museum “ part is very small, just one room with a few displays cases. The information and cases were interesting, I just thought maybe the museum piece would be bigger because it’s in such a grand building.

We had our wedding ceilidh here and had guests from Europe, Australia and Argentina joining us so it was a difficult crowd to please with such varied cultural tastes. Although Emily and the team made it all come together in a wonderful and seamless way. Emily went above and beyond to make sure we had some extra touches which made it extra special for my husband (and me!) The space, the canapés, the traditional Scottish rolls, the piper and of course the haggis went down a treat and everyone had the best time! Thank you to everyone at the NPC for all of your hard work and it’s truly incredible that you are able to make special such memories happen!

Fantastic, incredible, amazing. Everyone at the piping centre made sure our big day went perfectly. We're so grateful to all the staff, but especially Emily and Lauren who kept us on track throughout the day, and our piper who did a beautiful job piping my wife down the aisle. The team were very good with allergens and made sure all of our guests dietary requirements were taken care of. They were also just generally delightful and friendly, providing a wonderfully welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. I thought getting married would be more nervewracking but everything went so smoothly and we knew we were in safe hands. I wish I could give more stars.

Went to a graduation ball here. It was ok. Food wasn't great and room was quite bright so dancing was awkward.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the National Piping Centre, looking around the compact museum and and meeting a piper who introduced the art of piping. I also had the opportunity to play melody on a chanter.

Had a lovely stay here, would return again. As a solo female traveller, they were the perfect blend of welcoming, friendly and helpful, without ever being intrusive. Yummy breakfast in the morning too.
